Neele Hruby

Video and Media Artist

Neele Hruby is a media artist and art theorist. Her artistic and theoretical practice explores the transformative power of art at the intersection of sculpture, installation and time-based arts. 

Her works have been shown in the United Kingdom, Germany and Lithuania, including at the Dundee Contemporary Arts Museum, the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum, the Generator Projects Gallery, the Jump Cut Dance Film Festival, the International Short Film Festival Detmold, and the Skalvja Festival in Vilnius.

She has also worked as a concept developer and videographer with various art and research institutes, including the NEoN Digital Arts Festival, Hospitalfield Arts Arbroath, the Centre for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists, and Fraunhofer IEM.

Her academic background includes a degree in Time Based Art and Digital Film from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, as well as a degree in Philosophy and Media Studies with a focus on Aesthetic Theory and Artistic Research in Paderborn and Madrid. 

Since September 2025, she has been responsible for media production at the Academy for Theatre and Digitality.
