With the ‘amazing plays’ project, the duo around dramaturge and director Kristina Malyseva and software developer Benedikt Mildenberger have set themselves the goal of democratising authorship in the theatre. This is to be made possible with the help of AI-supported software. The software uses a specially trained large-language model pipeline and can generate everyday data about a theatre play within minutes. The AI analyses this information, recognises narrative potential and uses it to create a drama with a scene structure, dialogue and stage directions. This allows people without dramaturgical training to use it as a tool with which they can bring their own themes and perspectives to the stage.
After completing her residency, the complete source code will be published online under an open source licence.
