Our former fellow Martin Hennecke has been nominated for the German Theater Award DER FAUST with his project "The (Un)Answered Question".

In The (Un)Answered Question, the audience's biometric data was recorded using fitness trackers and converted into sheet music by an AI. The musicians of the Saarland State Orchestra then performed these notes live in concert. The heart recordings of actor Raimund Widra, who recited a poem during the MRI recordings, were also presented at the concert. This allowed a large amount of data to be generated, which served as data material and input for the artificial intelligence in the project.

Martin Hennecke laid the foundations for the project during his fellowship at the Academy for Theater and Digitality, when he worked on the artistic implementation of the project. On 8.11.2022, the time had come and the premiere took place at the Saarländisches Staatstheater.

The project was created in cooperation with: German Aerospace Center (DLR), the Max Delbrück Center, the Helmholtz Information & Data Science Academy (HIDA) and the Saarländisches Staatstheater, Benjamin Schäfer and Martin Hennecke.
