How to research digital theatre?

In an interactive presentation, Marcus Lobbes and Michael Eickhoff will provide insights into the possibilities of digitality in theater and research.

From audience engagement, interactive storytelling, theater performances in VR to artificial intelligence - on 14.03.2024 Marcus Lobbes (Director of the Academy for Theatre and Digitality) and Michael Eickhoff (Dramaturgy & International Networking) will present the possibilities of digitality in theater.

The Academy for Theatre and Digitality is a globally unique institution for digital innovation, artistic research and technology-oriented education and training for all areas of the performing arts - on, in front of and behind the stage. Under the direction of Marcus Lobbes, the Academy has been the sixth division of Theater Dortmund since its founding in 2019 and is dedicated to researching the structural conditions of artistic and technical action on stage, which are significantly influenced by digitalization. Central features of the Academy's work are artistic-technical-scientific research, prototype development, application-related testing, practical advice, cultural-political structural development and networking at regional, supra-regional and international level between actors from culture, science and business.
